2018 San Diego Climate Summit Recognizes Research Affiliate with Climate Leader Award

Dr. Megan Jennings, a research affiliate of the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation, was recognized as a 2018 Climate Leader at the San Diego Climate Summit for her skill and innovation in translating and applying climate science. The summit was held in large part to communicate the findings from a report  in early 2018 titled “San Diego County Ecosystems Assessment: Impacts of Climate Change on a Biodiversity Hotspot.” Dr. Jennings served as lead author on the report, and helped lead a team of ecologists and climatologists to conduct a review of the most current, regionally specific climate information, and pair it with current research on local species and habitats of the South Coast that are at risk due to climate variability and other stressors. The assessment will ultimately be part of California’s Fourth Climate Change Assessment.
