Hannah Gruen

MASTER OF ADVANCED STUDIES PROGRAM IN CLIMATE SCIENCE & POLICY
Hannah Gruen has a robust range of experience including geospatial modeling to assess climate vulnerabilities among low and moderate income communities, deploying oceanographic instrumentation to analyze the biological, chemical, and physical properties of water columns, researching mangrove regeneration, engaging with marine conservation and coastal adaptation projects, and assessing the feasibility of regenerative agriculture as a regional food security and climate adaptation strategy. Hannah's primary research at Scripps Institution of Oceanography focuses on the coupled relationship between climate and food security.
Hannah graduated with a B.S. from the University of Oregon in 2019 and is an alumni of the Master of Advanced Studies program in Climate Science and Policy. She has since taken on a substantial role in the facilitation of program operations as the program advisor and coordinator. Hannah supports program development, strategic visioning and manages student services such as academic and Capstone advising.
