Maren Hale
STAFF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE / HEAT WAVE RESEARCHER
In her role as staff research associate, Maren performs a variety of tasks related to the Center's new and ongoing research initiatives. Currently, her responsibilities include managing the SoCal Extreme Heat Research Hub project, funded by the NSF's Coastlines & People program, as well as contributing background research and writing for grant proposals, analyzing climate data using tools such as MATLAB, and facilitating collaborations with fellow climate researchers. She also works as the lab manager for the Climate Change Epidemiology Lab. Maren graduated from Scripps Institution of Oceanography's MAS program in Climate Science and Policy in 2020, and she holds a BA in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley.
