Center Director Mark Merrifield and Affiliated Researcher Dan Cayan were invited to speak at the Chancellor’s Associates Colloquium on Wednesday, June 13th. The Chancellor’s Associates gathered to hear more about how San Diego is adapting to the local impacts of climate change. Dr. Dan Cayan presented the “San Diego County Ecosystems: The Ecological Impacts of Climate Change on a Biodiversity Hotspot” assessment, a part of California’s 4th Climate Change Assessment which will be released this year. Dr. Merrifield provided insight on the bold solutions that are shaping our region’s 21st-century environmental outlook.
The Chancellor’s Associates comprise of a group of alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and community champions dedicated to facilitating philanthropy. They serve as an important source of funding for scholarships and support at UC San Diego.
