Director Mark Merrifield speaks at San Diego City Hall’s UCSD Day

Center director Mark Merrifield shared information on sea-level rise and building a resilient San Diego. In his presentation, Mark cited reports that state there could be an estimated $150 billion of property at risk of flooding in California by 2100.

The presentation detailed San Diego’s sea-level rise projections, along with potential implications, current center research and monitoring initiatives, and mitigation and adaptation pathways.

San Diego sea level has risen by almost 10 inches since 1900.
