Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
CLIMATE EQUITY
The Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation (CCCIA) recognizes that underserved groups, such as communities of color, low-income communities, indigenous peoples and tribal nations, and immigrant communities are disproportionately affected by adverse climate impacts. CCCIA is committed to working with partners and stakeholders to integrate social justice into our climate adaptation research and strategies.
EQUITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION AT CCCIA
CCCIA works internally to ensure our Center addresses UC San Diego's three tenants of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion:

ACCESS & SUCCESS
CCCIA is committed to attracting, retaining, and supporting a diverse faculty, staff, and student body within the Center and institution as a whole. The Center continues to hold workshops and trainings, as well as support internships and fellowships, that focus on the inclusion and elevation of underrepresented community members.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We seek to create and foster a positive and welcoming climate where everyone is valued, included, and supported. The Center is collaborating with Scripps’ Diversity Office and other UC San Diego departments on an ACCESS Justice initiative which seeks to elevate the visibility of underrepresented minority leaders at the intersection of climate science and social justice efforts.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Center is continuously working with Scripps and UC San Diego to identify metrics to evaluate our progress and to ensure climate equity remains at the forefront of our research. To learn more about how we
