New Project: San Diego Wave and Sea-Level Rise Pilot

In July, CCCIA launched a new project in San Diego Bay in partnership with the Port of San Diego, San Diego Gas & Electric, and the San Diego Airport Authority.  The project will provide enhanced data on short-term storm and incidental flood events. It will also advance modeling in the bay to improve site-specific sea-level rise predictions.

The first sensor was deployed near the SIO Nimitz Lab in the bay, with additional sensor deployments to be installed this fall and winter.  Observed wave and water level data will be shared via on online tool, and used to validate the bay model and predictions.
