Dr. Veerabhadran Ramanathan, a research affiliate of the Center, co-authored an opinion piece for The Sacramento Bee titled, “Three steps we need to take, starting this Earth Day, to avoid a climate catastrophe”. Dr. Ramanathan and the two other scientists behind this article know what this ‘catastrophe’ will look like—they were among the 30 who published last year’s study that unscored the direness of the future global temperatures. They also know what it looks like to prevent this catastrophe, using California and its regions as a “living laboratory”.
