Center Director Mark Merrifield joined San Diego Councilman Joe LaCava in a May 3rd webinar on sea level rise in La Jolla. Councilman LaCava hosted three regional climate change experts: Mark Merrifield, Laura Walsh of Surfrider San Diego, and Darbi Berry of the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative. Together they discussed how sea level rise is impacting La Jolla and a variety of adaptation strategies. Mark discussed the causes of climate change, how it contributes to rising seas, and how impacts are specifically felt in La Jolla.
